DCS Students Hit the Big Apple

When DCS does field trips, we go all out. This week, Mrs. Wehrli, Mrs. Cook, and Ms. Martin took 26 students to NYC to see the Broadway production of Hamilton. This was the culmination of our participation in the Gilder Lehrman Institute of History’s Hamilton in Education project. To get to Broadway, each DCS student had to complete research and an original piece of work that focused on either a Founding Father, founding document or event that occurred during the American Revolution time period. In the Big Apple, the DCS group took the train from Tarrytown to Grand Central, enjoyed a pizza buffet lunch at the famous John’s Pizzeria of Times Square, enjoyed the Hamilton performance and visited Time Square before heading home. This was the first time for many students riding on the train and visiting NYC and seeing a Broadway show.
